Morro das Pedras Surf Guide

Follow the road south from Campeche as it hugs the shoreline and you'll come to the headland of Morro das Pedras (Hill of Stones). It's a wide-open beachbreak that can have several peaks up and down it, especially in front of the hotel. At the south end of the beach is a headland where sand builds up and creates banks that favor rights. On its best days it can be almost point-like and zip along with hollow sections. The locals are on it when conditions are firing, but it can be a very good wave.

The beach itself is called Morro das Pedras, with different names for the various peaks, but the right-handers at the south end are generally the best. Try continuing on to the next beach south as well, another super-consistent beachbreak known as Caldierao.
