Today

Holding SSW swell keeps surf pumping all day -- biggest Pac side and Cabo proper.

SSW swell (215-200) holds all day, good for more head-high surf with overhead waves not too hard to track down. Better spots of the Pacific side and around Cabo proper are well overhead with some bigger sets likely in the mix at times. Not as much SSE swell in the mix for the East Cape this time around, so it'll be more selective.

AM conditions look pretty clean, if you're Pac side you'll need a little NW wind protection.

Shipwreck Surf Guide

Shipwreck picks up about the same amount of swell as Costa Azul near San Jose del Cabo, which makes it fairly consistent, especially in the summer. And while the star wave is a zippy right point/reef at the west end of the bay, which can connect all the way through to the beach in a series of different sections, there's also a little reef in the middle of the bay that can produce short-but-sweet lefts. Both waves are steeper and faster than Nine Palms. Read more
