A jetty/pier combination that provides a consistent bottom, 61st Street has a jetty that, while the north side tends to be better, either side can fire.
Local Vibe
Can be competitive on the good days at the best peaks.

Dense lineup at the best peaks, spread out the farther from the jetty you get.

Fun peaks and a few barrels when there is swell.
Shoulder Burn
The rip by the jetty makes easy to get out, however, most days the longshore currents will make it tough stay in position on the pier bowls.

Proximity to Houston shipping channel and runoff from Galveston equals often not the best water quality.

Angry fishermen.

Easy, paid parking on the seawall.
