Today

Good mix of overlapping southerly swells continues - overhead at the better breaks & clean.

Dawn-10am: Mix of older, mid period S swell that will be fading and new, very long period energy out of the SSW building slowly. Good size on local buoys and surf height close to Tuesday with shoulder-head high+ surf at the decent spots and sets running 1-2' overhead at times at standout breaks. Groomed under breezy offshore wind/ENE trades.

Afternoon Outlook: Holding surf. The new SSW swell won't be very tall but will have some power to it when the sets show. Trades continue.

Barbers Point picks up Southern Hemi swells from all directions, and it can also absorb Northern Hemi energy that has a lot of W in it (between 390-329 degrees) or has snuck under Ni'ihau and Kauai (under 285 degrees). Due to Barbers Point's exposed location, wind is often a factor. Read more
