Boilers Surf Guide

Another east-end break in Surfside, Boilers is located near the site of a submerged Confederate Blockade Runner, the Acadia. The Acadia's boiler stacks were exposed, lending the spot its name, but can no longer be seen from the beach.

The sand tends to shoal consistently in the vicinity of the sunken, buried vessel, and sometimes provides a definitive peak with hollow surf. Most of the time, however, Boilers is a collection of scattered peaks, much like the rest of the region. What's nice about Boilers is its relative isolation down the beach from the crowded jetties.
