Hudson Ave Surf Guide
Nestled within the upscale Harvey Cedars town in the northern end of the island, Hudson is equipped with plenty of juice and serves up the meatiest peaks around. The beachbreak does its thing close to shore with both lefts and rights that allow plenty of tubetime. Unless your bank account can finance a lofty summer retreat at the shore, you'll be hiking in from a few blocks away like the rest of us. Parking is available, but it is located on the other side of the highway. And before you go dismissing the lifeguard, think again. Top local surfers often hold court on the stands, so rest assured that their whistlings are not idle banter.

Frostbite in winter, sunburn in summer. Shallow sandbars.
Access
Free parking, however, there is no parking on the beach block of three adjacent streets – East Salem, Hudson Ave. and Passaic. There is ample free parking at Sunset Park as well as bathrooms and showers. Wheelchair accessible. Surfing allowed outside swim flags and badge required during guarded hours in the summer.
