Llandudno Surf Guide
A beautiful, sheltered little bay with white sand, costly real estate, freezing water, and A-frame barrels. Llandudno is generally a small-wave spot, but it gets hollow. The Gat, in the far corner, throws some vicious barrels, but it maxes out quite quickly.
Local Vibe
It can get pretty tense at Llandudno, with a bit of shouting.
Crowd Factor
Llandudno gets super crowded.
Spot Rating
Top-class beachbreak barrels.
Shoulder Burn
Breaks close to the beach, and the rides are relatively short, so paddling is minimized.
Water Quality
Clear as gin.
Hazards
It’s a pretty user-friendly wave, but it gets crowded and cold.
Access
Parking is always a problem, but easy beach access.
Bottom
A massive winter scouring leaves rocks on the shoreline. Otherwise, it’s pure, white sand.
Best Season
