Mantoloking Surf Guide
Mantoloking isn’t a specific break but a series of breaks over 2 miles in the exclusive town of Mantoloking. Though the classic jetties have been buried by beach replenishment, this stretch has quality waves that are often overlooked for the more high-profile breaks to the north and south. On good, mid-period swells, you can find great waves with light crowds. Favors south and southeast swells. Best wind is west but can handle southwest winds.
Local Vibe
Chill for most areas on most swells.
Crowd Factor
Plenty of room to find your own spot, even in Summer.
Spot Rating
Fun on the right day, and low-key.
Shoulder Burn
Mellow most of the time although bigger days are challenging.
Water Quality
Pretty clean overall.
Hazards
Shallow bottom, rip currents.
Access
Free street parking. Wheelchair accessibility at Downer Ave. Surfing is allowed anywhere outside the swim flags in the summer. Beach Badge required, but access to surf is free.
Bottom
Sand.
Best Season
September through March.
