Ortley Beach Surf Guide
Ortley Beach isn’t a specific break but a series of breaks over 16 blocks in the Borough of Ortley on Barnegat Bay Island. This is an average stretch where the classic jetties have been buried by beach replenishment. Mostly user-friendly in the summer and more critical in the fall, winter and spring. Best wind is west but can handle southwest.

Access
Street parking is free, though hard to come by in the summer. Access the beach over a non-commercial boardwalk, most of the town. There are a few condo/resorts on the south end which have their own pay parking, beach patrols and badges required during guarded hours in the summer. They can be accessed by parking on streets to the north and south in Seaside Heights. Public restroom on the boardwalk at Fielder Ave and Lifeguard Station at 4th and Ocean Ave.
