Riomar Surf Guide
Riomar's inside break is unimpressive compared to Vero's other shorepounds. However, if a good N is pumping and it's low tide, the outer reef turns on, providing an enviable, and rare, offshore opportunity more than 200 yards beyond the beach.
Local Vibe
Pretty mellow overall.
Crowd Factor
Uncrowded.
Spot Rating
Can get good on the stronger NE swell and hurricane swells that break on the reef. When small it breaks near the beach and there are better spots nearby for that. Not recommended for newer surfers. Gets sharky and these are big boys - bull sharks.
Shoulder Burn
You'll paddle to get to the surf - the reef's out there.
Water Quality
Usually very clean.
Hazards
This is bull shark territory. If it does not look or feel right, don't paddle out.
