Rucos Surf Guide
Hunting the best waves around Mazatlan often means dealing with crowded and rocky left pointbreaks, so if you're lucky enough to be all surfed out in such conditions and are looking for a change of pace, Rucos may be the spot for you. Located just a short distance north of town, Rucos is a beautiful and uncrowded stretch of sandy beach lined with thick vegetation to the east and multiple turquoise A-frames spilling left and right to the west. This all sounds perfect until you realize that Rucos is quickly blown out when the wind ticks onshore. Nevertheless, Rucos is generally uncrowded and, on the best days, there are several fun options up and down the beach.
