San Juan Surf Guide

Sitting to the east of La Santa, San Juan is a quality lefthander that breaks over a large, urchin-infested reef. For safety reasons it's best tackled at mid to high tide. When the tide drops out, the shallow inside section can suck dry, however, the outside section is still surfable with care. On a big swell, getting caught inside can be a particularly unpleasant experience. All this adds up to a spot that can produce some classic waves, but is best left to those who have reef experience.
