St. Andrew's Park Surf Guide
One of Panama City Beach's better spots, The Park is located inside St. Andrews State Recreation Area. The Park has two main breaks, and both are good inside and outside spots. Right next to the jetty on offshore days is a very fast, ruler-edged, hollow lefthander. If it gets big enough, you can ride it all the way to the beach from the outside. A few hundred yards to the west is a right and left peak. It breaks close to the beach and has a good outside for longboarders. The crowd is dispersed well by the two breaks, and the waves at the Park keep the pack at other spots, such as Amazons and Shell Island, manageable.
Local Vibe
Mellow.
Crowd Factor
Solid crowd - this is a goto spot.
Spot Rating
High quality wave when it is on and the jetty affords good wind protection. It gets really packed here but there is also a lot of room to spread out. Packs a punch when it is big.
Shoulder Burn
Easy on small days, tougher paddle on larger swells.
Water Quality
This is the emerald coast, so named due to the water color.
Hazards
Getting caught by the rangers for sneaking in early.
Access
Park in the lot at St. Andrews.
Bottom

Best Season
Fall-Spring, Hurricane
