St. Simons Island Surf Guide

St. Simons is a beautiful, barely developed, funky little island, most of it fronted by sandbars that crap up the surf; however, there are still a couple of breaks to sample. There's really only one workable mainland spot, and that's the jetty at 5th Street. It breaks on strong E to NE windswells up to head-high, but it won't get much bigger, thanks to the offshore sandbars. The tidal range along this stretch of GA coast is extreme and can cause strong currents.
