Ulladulla Bommie Surf Guide

The Ulladulla Bommie is a heavy wave with a pitching lip followed by a series of hollow and walling sections that will keep you guessing. This wave breaks on a shallow reef out of deep water and has enough power to slap you down and hold you there.

Breaking a few hundred meters out in the bay, the Bommie picks up all swell directions and there can be substantial water movement resulting in a shifting peak. It's a relatively simple paddle out through the channel but watch for sneaker sets and a rip that often drags surfers into the impact zone.

This place likes it big, and it can hold clean swells up to 15 feet. From six feet up, it's unforgiving nature will surprise those who aren't wary as the heavy-water movement and numerous ledges, crevasses, boils and double-ups that make for an unpredictable and challenging wave.
