Weligama Bay Surf Guide
Weligama is a gorgeous horseshoe bay a few miles long in southwest Sri Lanka that caters to a dozen surf schools teaching learners how to shred the soft, crumbly beach break rollers out front. Not of much interest to the more experienced levels, as with some substantial swell, Weligama just becomes one big closeout. However, the peak in the center of the bay is the most rideable wave and, again, this is beginner’s heaven.
