South Los Angeles Forecast

Today

SW'erly swell mix bumps up, largest from Manhattan north. Lined up with a few corners. Clean AM.

Dawn to 10am: Size pulses up a bit more as the Elida swell trends more SSW-SW and we'll see some Southern Hemi SW-SSW mix fill in. Look for the better breaks in the northern half of the South Bay to see decent size (waist-chest high), with standouts pushing head high. Smaller from around Hermosa south, mostly waist high and below. Clean conditions in the morning, light WSW wind puffs up late AM.

Afternoon Outlook: Bumpy as light to moderate WSW onshores build.

Manhattan Beach Pier Surf Guide

The best bets for good surf are mixed, combo swells and hope for defined sandbars. All spots south of Manhattan are increasingly shadowed from south/summer swell and rely primarily on southwest, west, and northwest swells. Marine Street is usually the best south swell spot in Manhattan. The beachbreaks are usually walled with some better-shaped waves near the Manhattan Pier.
