Mexico Beach Surf Guide
Mexico Beach is clearly one of the most beautiful, unspoiled areas of the Panhandle - a small fishing town with an inlet and a pier. The pier is the main surf spot and gets very good after cold fronts and hurricanes. The swell has to be large enough to get past Crooked Island Pass, but both sides of the pier break, as do the beaches east of the pier. Plan for very hollow and powerful right tubes. Keep in mind that this town was devastated by Hurricane Michael and continues to be rebuilt.

Spot Rating
An out of the way little spot that was decimated by hurricane Michael. This spot is a gem when it is working and you'll get barreled. But the key is to known when it is working - takes a very specific swell to get in under Cape San Blas.

Breaks fairly close to the beach, so not too bad overall.
Water Quality
This is the emerald coast, so named due to the water color.
