Dawn to 10:00AM: W swell tops out, as a new long-period SW swell gradually inches up, setting up shoulder high to 1'+ overhead waves and some peaks at best combo breaks. Light SSW winds much of the morning. Draining low tide later morning.

Afternoon Outlook: Surf size holds. Low-end moderate WSW winds peak mid afternoon, then slowly ease into the evening.

The flat-bottomed, user-friendly beachbreak at Cape Kiwanda is best when it's small and glassy, as the sandbars can produce some shapely rights and lefts. It's generally soft, except when the swell increases and the big outside right starts breaking off of the barren cape. The inner beachbreak, however, is heavily surfed.
