Fun to locally mid-size surf today with clean AM conditions, manageable afternoon bump.
Dawn to 10:00AM: SSW swell tops out over the morning and mixes with a decent amount of shorter period NW swell. Widespread waist high+ waves. Better SW and combo breaks hit chest-shoulder-high as standouts go head-high+. Not peaky but enough NW swell for some beachbreak corners -- especially on the mid AM tide push. Light/variable winds early, go light WSW mid morning.
Afternoon Outlook: Waves hold. Mellow WSW wind crumble through mid afternoon, then onshores ease going into the evening.

The fickle nature of the bar means that many surfers who swing in here in the forlorn hope that it will be working, will often end up surfing some of the beachbreaks further up the beach. Fortunately the beachies in these parts can get really good. A carbon copy of Hobson's Beachbreak just a few miles north, Summer Beach is a two-mile span of scattered sand-bottom peaks.
