Onshore wind settles down, options for decent surf this afternoon
Afternoon Outlook: conditions slowly starting to improve this afternoon as the tide drops to low, especially further east where onshore wind is now fairly light. The tide small enough to allow for shoulder/head-high sets at the best breaks. Make the most of the lighter wind this afternoon - if you want to surf at sundown, aim for breaks that handle increasing SSE wind.

A once a decade spot if you're lucky. Only the biggest winter storms will push swell around Laverock Point and into the beach front at Penarth. A very rare combination of the right sized swell, the right period and the right tide will produce a righthand wave to the south of the pier. The rarest bird.
