Dawn-to-Midday: nothing doing at first light, then watch for modest SE wind-swell around 1-2ft by lunchtime at east-facing breaks. SE wind is going to be on it so don't expect clean conditions. Something for novices.
Afternoon Outlook: the tiny, SE wind-swell will just about hold on the pushing tide in the afternoon, losing energy towards the evening high-tide so maybe don't leave it too late getting in. SE wind slowly backs down.

Whitby Beach Surf Guide
The beach at Whitby runs from the town all the way to Sandsend. The harbour end is sheltered during an onshore southeasterly wind. There's a rip that runs next to the wall for an easy paddle out. There can be fun waves here from low to three quarter tide. The sand shifts regularly but it can get excellent. Read more
